As the holiday season begins we find the members of Tacoy Ryde involved in various musical endeavours, as well as recording demos for a new album. Also, check out the digitally remastered tracks from the JATO album in the music section.
Dec. 13, A Fist Full of Blues launches their new CD of original blues tunes at the Newcastle Pub. This marks the first CD from Bill's new studio and was a great proving ground for the new gear and software. Bill had lots of fun getting the bugs out and came up with a great product. AFFOB play The Blues on Whyte the following week Dec. 15 - 20. Check out www.fistfullofblues.com to find what's happening with Big Hank and the boys.
Dec. 14, Al reunites with his old pals, The Stone Merchants, for a night at The Blues on Whyte. It'll be interesting to see what material they come up with for this gig. Watch for more in the new year.
Dec. 27, Dale, Al and Bill will be performing in The Christmas Carol Project again this season. Only, this year it will be one night at the fabulous Winspear Centre. Traditionally the musical has been a 10-day run at the Roxy Theatre.
New Year's Eve will be a blues extravaganza with A Fist Full of Blues and Hot Cottage at the Norwood Legion. Last spring these two bands played together at this venue and had such a good time that they decided it should happen again. Tacoy Ryde and Hot Cottage have a long history dating back to the 70's when they played street dances for the hippies on Saskatchewan Drive. Also, Hank was Hot Cottage's singer for a time and Linsey (Cottage's drummer) was Tacoy's drummer for a stint. Tickets available at Megatunes.
